FLORAL MIX

I was in the mood for wearing florals the other day. I decided at the last minute that I would not subject my office to the triple whammy of H&M matching floral trousers and jacket with this shirt and instead opted for the more muted embroidered floral Topshop jeans that have festered slightly at the back of my wardrobe.

The Celine inspired combo will have to wait for another day.

BANK HOLIDAY BLUES IN RED

Two back to back bank holiday weekends and I'm feeling a bit like I need a health farm. My liver has been working overtime, and my diet has been miserable. The resultant fat day from this state of affairs was fixed with a simple Zara dress. Thanks to the healing properties of a red dress I went into the night to drink more than I should and eat very yummy canapes, trundling home at 3am feeling a *little* the worse for wear.

Red Faced

Reddest face in these pics. Had been on my morning run before rushing off for work. This is so busy right now that I don't really know if I'm coming or going. All I know is that whatever I'm doing there will be early morning runs or runs home from work. Boo to marathons.

Silver

Sometimes when you wake up in the morning and have a total wardrobe tantrum it's best to pick one detail and follow it through. For me it was the studs on the shoes, the only item I knew I wanted to wear...I amaze myself that I can have so many clothes and still not find the right outfit if my mojo isn't working.

My New Best Friend Is An Inanimate Object

My new favourite piece of jewellery is this octopus pendant my Aunt bought for me for my birthday. We found it in a market in Fiesole, a town just outside Florence. Isn't he great?

Pop...? Or just me exploding?

I hate the way all the magazines these days can't publish an issue in which they don't heavily feature the phrase "colour pop" in some way, shape or form. To begin with it was fun - "I love the way the bag makes a conservative outfit pop", but now I want to scream when I see it - fashion cliche or what? If I read this dreaded phrase I imagine a cold and lonely (possibly starving) fashion editor sat in a room on deadline hurling tired fashion expressions onto a screen and hoping they stick.

So, these heels do not make the outfit pop. No Siree.
