BORED OF TIGHTS

I wish summer would return. I really resent having to wear tights in June, I mean it's a bit much, isn't it?

MY FAVOURITE DRESS (THIS WEEK)

This post was a blogger crash casualty. It was meant to go up yesterday. I seem to have all sorts of double posts and weird labelling going on. Oh well.

I love this dress and I how I feel when I wear it. It's a super simple cut in many ways, and clearly designed by a woman who knows how some dresses feel great on for the first 4 hours, but shitty after you've had lunch and go back to sitting at your desk. This you can wear all day without it creasing too much, it crucially doesn't cling to your stomach and is still fitted enough around the bust and upper torso to not totally swamp you.

But...the best thing about the design is the fabric. Delicious draping volumes of the stuff that swish as you move. I could not ask for more. Apart from it to also come in black, navy, red and grey.

Muscly calf shot due to the irresistible urge to play with all that material.

The Wonder Years

I feel like an 80's prepster from a Donna Tartt novel in this outfit, which is a totally good thing, as long as I don't end up dead at the bottom of a ditch.

The Last Of The Summer (Whines...)

In the last two days in London people have been busting out the coats. And opaque tights are back on the legs of any woman with a hem line above the knee. Thought I better get the last few hours out of the summer dresses in the wardrobe before it's too late.

Moschino Obsession

There are some brands that take their heritage very seriously. I personally think Karl Lagerfeld is a MUCH better designer when working for the house of Chanel than when working for Fendi or his own label. When he has the tweed, the skirt suits, jersey and gilt chains to work with his natural wit shines.

Moschino is a label that every now and then creates something glorious, but often misses the mark. The brand is known for it's playful character but I think something gets lost because of a lack of coherence. The punchline takes over from the design if you know what I mean. But not this A/W 10 season, like the S/S 10 before it, almost every look was perfect. Why? Because they had played with what Moschino once was - a brand that defined the 80's in many ways. They replicated many of the top hits and for some reason it really works right now...this is what Moschino is.

And of course, somewhere behind the scenes ADR is helping out. I die.
