PARLEZ VOUS TIREDNESS?

I'm being a rubbish blogger at the moment or perhaps more accurately a rubbish dresser. Everything I wear looks totally crap when I get home from work and edit the pictures I took in the morning. This is the only outfit I have been even vaguely happy with this week. I'm so shattered all the time that the usually fun activity of choosing what shoes to wear is becoming a drag. I know I'm in a funk.

I'm hoping to spend the weekend recharging my batteries - sleeping, running, reading and doing my nails (I have no idea why I find this one of the most relaxing and therapeutic activities in the world, but I do). I'm also going to be eating healthily. Everything in my fridge has gone off and I'm too tired to clear it out or restock and so I end up eating takeout or ready meals, which of course makes me more tired and cranky and the cycle repeats itself. I might even get my bake on and try making biscuits with my new cutters from Liberty in the shape of Great Britain and Ireland (£4.00 worth of fabulousness).

ASHISH BANANA SPLIT

When the Ashish t-shirts for Topshop went into stores earlier this year I thought about buying one, but they cost £40, and £40 seemed a bit expensive for a banana split (speaking of which, I haven't had a banana split since I was about 12, I think I might have to have one on Sunday, traditional banana split day in the Barnes family during the mid 80's).

A couple of weeks ago there was a flash sale in Topshop stores, and the Oxford Circus branch has just one of the Ashish tees in that sale, in my very size. I am not the kind of girl not to take the hint when it comes to food, even if it is the kind I'll be wearing not eating.

Going Grey

God, that title isn't even funny. I really am going grey. I've had a bottle of hair dye in my bathroom for 3 months now and I keep on putting it off because, as my hairdresser tells me, once I do there is no going back. Gulp. Old age is no fun kids, don't do it.

Anyway, whilst I may be fighting a losing battle with my grey hairs, I'm winning the battle of grey / silver toned jumper acquisitions - nothing goes quite as well with blue jeans and these two components comprise my key uniform for weekends when I can't be bothered to dress up (or don't want to confuse people in the pub).

Pamela Love or ASOS?

Pamela Love jewellery is fabulous, but also pretty expensive. I try a piece on about once a month in Liberty but never end up buying it. Part of the reason I can't do it is that it is so trendy and instantly identifiable I worry about how dated it will look a few years down the line. Luckily for me ASOS stepped up once again with a decent approximation that more than replaces any Pamela Love shaped need in my life right now. ASOS is on fire right now, I just can't get enough...I love a British success story.

Ashish for Topshop

Ashish, the maker of sequinned wonders that I can't afford, has released a small range of slogan t-shirts and sweaters in Topshop. I thought I'd play up this 'Garcon' tee with a pair of faux spats style shoe that I love, but have never got around to truly breaking in. When I finally do they will probably only come off when they fall off.
