Isabel Marant. Just about everything in the shop was perfect. Sadly it was 30 odd degrees and very humid. Even with all this temptation the last thing I wanted to do was try on winter clothes.

Didier Ludot - I've always been too scared to go into this vintage designer heaven. It was insanely pricey but the every piece was so amazing you'd usually only see it in a museum. Definitely ask to be let into the shop next door where they keep the archive.

I need these Venise shoes! The shop was shut on Sunday and I can't find anywhere to buy them online. Does anyone know where they're sold in the UK?

I seem to have lost some of my favourite items of clothing. I have no idea where my calf length skirt has got to, nor my velvet Madewell dress. It's at times like this that I realise I'll to devote a day to thinning out my wardrobes...the must be in there somewhere...right?

My new favourite piece of jewellery is this octopus pendant my Aunt bought for me for my birthday. We found it in a market in Fiesole, a town just outside Florence. Isn't he great?

After Isabel Marant

I have already posted about how much I would like to own the leather Isabel Marant pedal pushers that are out this season. Sadly they cost well over a grand, so it ain't happening. Happily most of Isabel Marant's collection is pretty easy to imitate - it's a 1950's rockabilly look - 7/8 length trousers, kitten heels and a little jacket. I am at an age now when I have some of these things from the 'time before' - because yes kitten heels were trendy in the late 90's and I had some then, so out they came for the first time in 7 years. They must be wondering what is going on - are they for the chop or really back on my feet?

And my new River Island ring. It's like having an armadillo on my finger, which is a good thing, of course.
