Billy the Christmas Dog
This is the dog I spend all day with at work. I know...I am so lucky it's untrue. He is this cute all the time. My phone photo album is about 70% dog now because of this little one.

Work It
I hate to look sloppy at work. In my opinion, if you look scruffy and too casual in the office everyone will assume your work is as haphazard as your appearance. I found my jobs got a hell of a lot better when I stopped wearing combat trousers and trainers and started wearing silk shift dresses. This may just be true of the fickle world of television, but the pleasure of getting together an outfit for work in the morning is always something worth waking up for.

Paul Smith - Hero
I love Paul Smith. Talented, funny and a collector of things...he has boxes of rabbits - toys, models, fatties (family term for cuddly toys) - for no other reason than he quite likes them. This is a man that would get me in a flash.

Tight Deadline
Yesterday I wore my new Henry Holland faux suspender tights to work. With a dress. Don't worry. I liked them too. They cost £10, which isn't Wolford expensive, but hardly M&S cheap and cheerful either.
I was happy all day. I liked the cheekiness of knowing I had them on with my preppy dress and felt safe in the knowledge that if my dress rode up whilst walking all anyone would see would be the faux suspender / knicker detail of the tights.
And then I got home, tugged them up and promptly ripped them. I cannot wear ripped tights like all these young tykes who I see in the streets and their patron saint Peaches Geldof. It is wrong. We spent anguished hours at secondary school with clear nail polish trying to fix this common wardrobe woe. Sadly the tights were not fixable and went in the bin. £10 gone in less than 24 hours.
Maybe I should buy the expensive scarf instead...

Travel Time

Today I spent a good 3 hours on expedia, lastminute, ba.com etc looking for the best deals to go away...anywhere. I love planes. I love airports. I like arriving somewhere and thinking "I was in London 3/7/12 bloody hours ago". In fact, there's not much I don't like about travelling - other than the cost.
Hotels are damn expensive. Especially in anywhere you remotely want to stay (captial cities, nice areas). Eye wateringly expensive. I wish my brother still had the sweet apartment in NY. If he did I'd be across every month or so. Right about now I could do with a Clinton St Bakery blow out breakfast.
Anyway. The thought of travelling spurred me onto something semi sensible - if I want to travel I need to create a job that does just that. And I think I made some progress today. So, pat yourself on the back kiddo. Thanks.

The End Is In Sight...
Well, I haven't posted for a long while. I've been working, which of course means I've also been shopping. But next week I finish my job (voluntarily I might add).
In that time my buying has gone from restrained (I didn't buy a designer shoe in nearly 4 months) to bonkers (I bought a pair of Alexander Wang booties and Maloles black flat boots in one day, something I can ill afford to do).
With just 7 more days to go at work I am waiting for that fateful day - the clear out. A time to refresh, rejig and cut my wardrobe in two. Hopefully that will mean I can access the clothes I actually want to wear, rather than squirrel around like this morning only to end up wearing the same style of American Apparel skirt I always wear. However, I have tried a departure from the norm in rewearing in my Paul and Joe Sister sandals. I know I will have a blister by the end of the day, but I feel I need to actually start wearing my shoe collection.
