A TRADITIONAL WEEKEND

Last Saturday it was the village fete in the village my parents live in and my Dad's birthday. I wasn't quite as helpful as I could have been on the bric a brac stall - I spent most of the day mooning over the lovely dogs at the regional dog show, one of the main attractions of the day (as far as I'm concerned). That and the cake stall. And the tombola. Why am I so drawn to a stall where I can spend £1 for 5 tickets only to win a can of sweetcorn I could have bought for 42p? That's one fucked up British upbringing right there.

Oh, and most importantly? It didn't rain.

1. Village fete being set up
2. Cute dog
3. Another cute dog
4. Birthday fizz
5. Dad's Lego men (he collects the packets you buy like stickers)
6. More Lego (seriously, he was given loads as pressies)
7. Mum & Dad's garden
8. Oi oi sailor (and very non P.C. cannibal)
9. Hula Hoop fingers. Classy
10. Wonderful Swedish Hasbeens x H&M sandals

The Morning After The Night Before

Am a tad hungover today, so excuse the glassy eyes. Nothing quite like a summery outfit to convince everyone else that your demeanour is similarly summery, when in fact all you want to do is go back to bed and wait for the Law & Order repeats to kick in at about 4pm.

It's not Nigella's cake, it's mine!

Christmas is over, but I thought I would squeeze one last drop out of the season with these pictures - my 'Nigella' cakes (although I would like to point out I bought the cake tin pre Nigella - so actually Nigella's cake was a copy of mine)and some other assorted food porn shots.

I always think hosting is terribly glamorous, but sadly forget it all ends in one big old mess at the end of the night.

Mum in Brogues

Well, not just any old brogues - my Dad's when she was a bit tiddly one night and decided to get in them to take them downstairs. I grabbed my phone to snap her, but she was already laughing too much - hence the blurriness.

Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Shoes - why booze and t'internet don't mix

Just drunkenly bought YSL classic black tribs. Arghhhhhh. Ebay, huh? You see something on for 9 days 20 hours and think! I got there first! Better grab a bargain! And now I am £100 poorer and 6 inches higher. Ha!

P.s. - I am now on a self imposed shoe diet. No more shoes for a while. Must not buy shoes. Repeat, must not buy shoes.

Edit - these arrived on Saturday morning. They are amazing. The height is pretty scary, and the heel rather unstable, but they do give the leg and ankle great shape. Will do an outfit post soon - they look killer with skinny jeans!

Fun Times

I was trying to sort through my photos tonight and I came across these. One of my dear friend Maggie and I on a night out. We had glitter eye make up put on by a make up artist. I wish this happened everyday, it would be so much fun.

The other picture made me laugh so much. It was from my drunken 31st and neatly demonstrates what happens when my friends, alcohol and Laduree macaroons mix - in that they don't.
