SHOE TALK

I bought these Melissa shoes in a charity shop a couple of years ago for a tenner. I would never pay full price as I must admit I'm not sold on Melissa as a concept. The plastic shoe looks nice with clean fluid lines, but the smell turns my stomach and unlike leather they have no give which means they tend to slightly cripple you and cut into your feet (and they have single handedly made searching for Vivienne Westwood shoes on eBay a real bore of traipsing through listing after listing of Vivienne Westwood for Melissa shoes). Grrr. But still, last week was warm and open toes shoes were on the menu. However, when it actually came to walking any distance and going out they were swiftly replaced by Louboutin Matatales mini wedges, which I personally think are his most underrated shoe design - classic, easy to walk in and make the foot look fabulous (IMHO).

Too Many T-Shirts, Not Enough Jumpers

This summer I went a bit mad buying t-shirts. Rodarte, Christopher Kane, Acne, Something Else by Natalie Wood, American Apparel etc...These additions to my wardrobe are great, but now the weather is turning I am finding myself increasingly at a loss when it comes to dressing in the mornings. For the moment a cardie will suffice, but soon it's going to be time for a re-think - what will my winter staple be?

I usually just bulk buy Uniqlo merino wool or cashmere jumpers, but in my experience they don't last too well, they tend to bobble easily and look very tired by mid March. The hoodie option is out because it's not smart enough and any heavy knit jumper (cable knits etc) makes me look humungus because I have quite big boobs. Gah, dressing for the cold is a minefield.

Fun With Fakes

Shopping with my brother the other day I spied this t-shirt and had to have it. It seems that even in store for the guys I can still shop without problems. But, heck, I buy stuff in pet stores, and I don't even have a pet (I'm buying in preparation, obviously).

I have to admit I'm not a Versace fan, but the gaudiness of the logo has always attracted me, and it felt like a natural partnership to my homemade fake Chanel tee (although the company that makes this also make a Chanel version too).

I bought a new lipstick. Excuse the ridiculous pout. I just couldn't help it.

You can never have enough, though sadly you always have too little storage

After months of putting it off I took to rearranging my tee-shirt and jean storage.

I now know:

I have wayyyyy too many tee-shirts, including an impressive array of blog based ones dating back to 2005 when I first purchased a Go Fug Yourself tee.

American Apparel have changed the jersey they use to make their long sleeved tops, and not for the better.

I cannot resist buying Uniqlo jeans - I have over 20 pairs of the skinny cut in all shades of blue, black and earth tones.

In fact, almost all my jeans are super skinny apart from two very baggy pairs I have left over from the late 90's that remind me of being a slouchy student when I thought that wearing jeans meant you couldn't avoid them sucking up all water nearby when it rained. I could never go back - this is why skinnies rule for me - no wet legs.

I'm gonna have to stop buying stuff and wear what I already own.

Please remind me of this as the spring/summer 10 stuff hits the rails over the coming weeks.

Grace Coddington T-Shirt

Here is my Deer Dana T-shirt worn with pride on Saturday. I literally put it on standing in my hallway and snapped this. How childish am I?
