NIKE AIR MAX 90 HYPERFUSE NEON

I am all about the Nike Air Max 90 these days. I've been searching for a pair of these in my size (UK 5.5) but to no avail. There are a few sites that look very dodgy that stock them but I'm not prepared to risk it. I'm not massively good at trainer hunting...designer shoes I know where to ferret around, trainers I'm at a loss. Any tips, sneaker heads?

Fantasy Shoe of The Week - SURFACE TO AIR PANDORA

I've not been crazy about many shoes this season - in Barneys there was little to induce me to flex the plastic from the new season of shoes in stock (no Prada yet). But these clumpy babies from Net A Porter might change my mind. Oh yes.

ASOS Anger and Angels - Shoe Picks

I love the navy and black suede combination of these wedge boots and the little turn down by the ankle. I've never understood why navy and black can't be combined - who invented that rule? Yup, the ASOS Anger lace up boot is lovely.

This is more of an ugly beautiful boot, but it appeals to me nonetheless. The ASOS Angel wool ankle boot would look great with skinny jeans and is so Christmassy I want to wear them when I decorate my tree.

Proenza Schouler Mule- my fantasy shoe of the week

Source - ? Please let me know and I'll take down or credit

Loving these Proenza Schouler shoes. I am a sucker for a big clumpy shoe with a sky scraper heel, but I think they'll remain in fantasy territory for quite a while - here's hoping they end up on The Outnet this time next year...

Fantasy Shoe of The Week - ASOS AMES

Image from asos.com

Hello world, this is the Ames suede ankle boot from asos.com. Isn't she nice? I can't buy her / them because I awoke on Saturday morning (okay, I was hungover...I mean afternoon) to discover I had indulged in a spot of drunk bidding. And won. I now own a totally useless dress I fear I will never wear. Oops.

Natalia Vodianova and the case of the velvet slippers

Natalia Vodianova is without a doubt a beautiful woman. But over the past few years the thing that has always struck me about her have been her most excellent shoe choices. Always practical, chic and unexpected - she is a bit of a shoe muse for me. It started in a lovely family photo shoot for Vogue a few years ago when she wore a pair of lace up jazz shoes / brogues with a ball dress that had me searching for something similar for yonks - dainty yet dressy - these shoes were a marvel.

Then, a little while back Hanneli snapped her in a new pair of beautiful shoes outside the Paris (I think, the site is down?) fashion shows. This time it was slippers, you know the velvet type, the likes of which are usually found on the feet of very rich men as they trot off to the drawing room for a cigar. I later found out they cost OVER A THOUSAND POUNDS from Tom Ford. That's why they're only seen on rich men...these puppies are pricey...Marks and Sparks they are not.

After much searching for an alternative I have decided the Office version look too cheap, the Tom Ford's are too expensive (duh), the Jimmy Choo leopard print would be fab but are sold out worldwide and the Church's ones are ideal but at £210 might have to wait until the residual guilt of my latest Selfridges shopping spree wears off (oh crap, it might never wear off, I've been pretty f-ing bad, I can't even post what I bought because then it becomes real. Pants, pants, pants).

Aren't these nice Church's slippers? Am thinking tailored black trousers, white silk shirt, oversized grey cashmere cardie. I would need a silk shirt and cashmere cardie to do this, however.

Fantasy Shoe of The Week - Vintage Chanel

Keeping on the theme of Chanel shoes for the day, these were on sale on eBay not too long ago. Alas they were a European 36 - way to small for me to even think about smushing my feet into. If you own a pair beware of putting them on in London. If I see you the chances are I will wrestle them off your feet. Fact.

Fantasy Shoe of The Week - ASOS

...and I say it's a fantasy because, even though they cost a mere £55 in the sale... *drumroll* I HAVE BEEN NAUGHTY IN LIBERTY (why am I always naughty in Liberty? Why never Selfridges or Harvey Nicks?).

If you want them, or even better, you want to give them to me, get them here from the lovely ASOS. Go on, you know you want to. I can see them being a summer staple. And having spent last night trawling Soho in Gap's Pierre Hardy wooden heeled sandals from last year (charity shop purchase for £10 only a week after they came out - bonus) I can say with mild authority that they'd be pretty comfortable to walk in.

Fantasy Shoe of The Week - DKNY

I must not buy any shoes. But if I were to, I think right now I would buy these...DKNY open toe boots from Net A Porter. The last pair of DKNY shoes I had were some tragic mid 90's suede platform flip flops (that thankfully someone living next door to me at college 'borrowed' and never gave back), but I think I could reintroduce DKNY to my shoe wardrobe for these. They're only £145 and selling out fast...

Fantasy Shoe Of The Week - Charlotte Olympia

I just love Charlotte Olympia shoes. Charlotte Dellal, the designer has a unique voice in the world of shoes - you can tell her creations a mile off, and unlike some other designers the styles don't seem forced or try hard. She is as rad as her designs - her look is part 1940's siren mixed with modern day London attitude.

The exciting thing in that she's just opened a stand alone store for the first time on Maddox Street, just of off Bond St. I will be going along but I might have to leave my wallet at home.

Update: The shop isn't open yet, but there's a big poster window saying that it's coming soon. I stopped to earwig on a conversation someone was having outside about when it would open, but I started to get funny looks. Cross fingers it's soon!

Her website is http://www.charlotteolympia.com/ - it seems to be down a the moment, but when it's back up I urge you to explore her shoes. I am sure they will be collectors pieces of the future.

Fantasy Shoe Of The Week - Tabitha Simmons

As always, I have bought far too many shoes in the last 7 days (LA Gears & some dusky blue men's brogues from T.K. Maxx and crazy tasselled wedges from Zara). Still, this does not stop me wanting more. Tabitha Simmons' shoes are always gorgeous - but my, are they on the pricey end of town. I would totally buy them if I were married to Bill Gates or Oprah (basically someone rich enough to not notice that these snakeskin works of art cost £1,300!)

Still, if you are Stedman or Melinda and you want to buy these (for yourself or perhaps moi) then Net A Porter is the place to go.

Alexa Chung's Miu Miu Shoes - Fantasy Shoe of the Week

Congrats Miu Miu, you've made the perfect shoe. :) on Twitpic

Because we all want this shoe, don't we? I mean, stuff things like eating, oyster card top up money and paying the massive gas bill from over the winter aside - these will keep your heart warm and your body running.

Fantasy Shoe of the Week - Church's two tone brogues. Thunk.

There is something about brogues I have loved for years. I my first pair (white, plain) in a charity shop. I remember dancing around in a drunken haze in them a few days later paired with 40's wide legged trousers, white shirt and a cravat for an Agatha Christie party. Brogues are ace because they are dressy, smart and easy as hell to walk in. They get my vote.

Over the years I have invested in many other pairs of brogues, most satisfyingly Paul Smith 'for men' ones (the label is, I assume, ironic). They have a great slim cut which is perfect for my narrow feet and they are probably my most complimented upon shoes, by boys as well as girls.

But...I've never owned a pair of Church's shoes. Which I should really. They are probably the ultimate if you're doing boy chic, and I've bullied several people into owning a pair (Stoy, my bro, my Dad) yet I've never taken the plunge and bought some for myself.

These babies on Net a Porter might have to become mine if I can sell some loot on ebay when I get back.

Fantasy Shoe of the Week - Charlotte Olympia

Okay, so I was in Texas last week and bit remiss with the whole updating thing. I will do a whole post on the pleasures of Austin (many) and the buys in the Houston Galleria (Louboutin's and Alexander Wang) once I've worked out how to use MY NEW CAMERA!

But first - the ever important fantasy shoe of the week. These were featured in Stylist, the free women's fashion handout in London. Apparently they cost £805, which is pretty steep but when they are this delicious I can see how beauty could override wallet unfriendliness if you were so inclined. With these I could be a forest imp of extreme rad-ness. Sigh.

Proenza Schouler - my fantasy shoe of the week

With trips to Houston / Austin, Texas and Melbourne, Australia lined up in the next 2 months I know that spending money is a foolish thing to do.

But testing my resolve are these beautiful creations from Proenza Schouler at Net a Porter. If I listen carefully I can hear them singing to me about how my life will be instantly better and flooded with a bucketful more sass if I owned them.

From now on I will be giving my fantasy shoe of the week, which will hopefully work the same way as walking around a shop with an item you know is impractical / too expensive / silly - just walking around holding it and then putting it back tricks your mind into thinking you owned it, if just for a little while.
