Love, peace and awesome shoes...see, I'm a hippy at heart
As well as that boring stuff like, you know, work, I have decided that this week I will be also attempting to break in my Christian Louboutin Love flats I bought a while back and put away for Summer. I once lamented that I never find the really amazing old 80's / early 90's Louboutins in second hand stores (but I do find them every now and again...patience folks) and it seems Mr Louboutin heard my cry and reissued these. Heaven.

Extreme case of pet want
Walking past this apartment block (in fact, my brother's apartment block), a cat appeared at the window directly in front of us. She posed like a dream model. If there hadn't been glass in the way I would have run away with her. How regal is she? Our cats all looked like bag ladies in comparison.

Muted tones and dancing hares
Summer has finally reached the UK. I went to the RA to see the Paul Sandby, but it was the giant hares in the courtyard that were the major highlight for me (sorry Paul, you're not just my kind of guy on the whole, I doubt you care though, you've been dead for over 200 years).

Camille Miceli - Style Icon
How fabulous is Camille? Kate Lanphear better be quaking in her boots. I am loving my newfound inspiration for black dressing with heavy accessories!
Ron Mueck at the NGV
In recent days I've become a hound for galleries and museums. I just felt the need to see more new stuff...
In Melbourne back in March I went to see the Ron Mueck exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria. He only began making 'art' in his late 30's, after working in film and television for many years, and his mother in law is Paula Rego. That in itself is enough to make me a fan. I mean, who wouldn't be a fan of anyone even distantly related to her? I'd be fascinated if you told me you knew her milkman or postie.
Regardless of his family connections you can't deny that this retrospective, starting with the famous Dead Dad is a hit with a normal (and I use that term in the loosest sense of the word) audience. The place was packed. The life like nature is hard to tear yourself away from. But is it the filmic quality to his work that really transfixes. This is real life, or as close as you can get when confronted with a 12 ft baby - it amplifies everything that is good or bad about the human body and invites you to create a narrative of your own. Makes everyday scenes monumental and unnatural scenes everyday. I just love the two old women having a conflab together. I can spend hours just imagining what they are talking about, what they popped out to get and what they are doing tonight (Mecca Bingo? Wetherspoons? Fish And Chips? Plotting the murder of their husbands?).

Summer in trouser form
I admit it. I am a total jeans and shirt / tee shirt girl most of the time. It's such an easy outfit and can be dressed up or down depending on your accessories.
But, I also have a soft spot for loud trousers - there is a feeling you get when wearing floral trousers that is impossible to get from any other item of clothing. Unlike a dress the pattern feels slightly unexpected, and because you're wearing separates you can clash or match as much as you want (I have a penchant for mismatched floral designs and have started collecting floral tops to go with my three pairs of flowery pants). Today I decided to dress for comfort on top, and instability on the bottom - yep, still can't trust myself going up and down the stairs in my house with heels on, feels like I am dicing with death every time.

Caitlin Moran Obsession
If any of you are even half as stalker-y about Caitlin Moran as I am, then you will love this interview. Twitter maniac, creator of the Miliband brother's as 'Ross from Friends and the Hot Chimp' (I will never look at David without thinking that, ever...), THE Gaga interview and now this. I love her.
