The ASOS haul - Sale Edition

On Sunday night I went sale shopping on ASOS. One of the best things about internet shopping is the ability it gives you (and by you I mean me, obviously) to rationalise that you are not really shopping...after all you're not going into any shops. Yup, I am slightly delusional, but sometimes I tell myself that buying things online "doesn't really count".

So these are my 'no count' items...

ASOS print wrap oversized top - they weren't kidding about the oversized bit I can tell you! I love the wrap detail - it feels like I'm wearing a cool kimono and the print is great.

Top - ASOS
Joggers - Topshop
Wedges - New Look

Ann-Sofie Back Boo! sweater - I'd have my eye on this for sometime. Glad to finally get my mitts on it instead. I will wear this every day up to and including Halloween (which reminds me, must get Halloween box out of storage ASAP).

And below, my surprised face...

Sweater - Ann-Sofie Back, from ASOS
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Zara

Karen Walker Bird Print Trousers - to tell you the truth I'm not entirely convinced by these yet. I'll see what rolling them up can do (I've noticed on the model pic on ASOS they have rather large turn ups) but the proportions are VERY modelesque - as in the waistband is very high and the inseam must be nearing 36". I love the print...but the fit...hmm...will have to sleep on it.

Top - American Apparel
Trousers - Karen Walker from ASOS
Shoes - Fabio Rusconi

Horace Oversized Knit - my favourite of the bunch! Not very grown up, but so much fun. I feel like a student again, in a good way rather than the 'eat beans, have a hangover, essay crisis, repeat' way.

Jumper - Horace from ASOS
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Zara

Chanel in my hands, Chanel on my back

At the moment I am reading the Justine Picardie Coco Chanel biography. I have read most books about Gabrielle Chanel, but this is by far the most beautiful. It feels like reading a very chic picture book (unlike most non fiction the book is crammed with full colour pictures all the way through, not just a crappy 8 page insert in the middle you have to keep flicking back or forwards to). As so much of Chanel's work was about creating recognisable visual motifs it makes sense that with this glorious hardback you actually get to see the influences next to the sumptuous creations.

(This looks like a rude gesture here - it's not. I have no idea why I am doing this, other than my arms hurt a bit from all the weights I'm doing at the moment, so maybe it was an involuntary movement?)

Jacket - Chanel (from Housing Works Thrift)
T-Shirt - Target
Jeans - Topshop
Shoes - Russell & Bromley

Christopher Kane for Versus & Bruce Weber = Words I Like To Hear

I want this t-shirt. Christopher Kane X Bruce Weber = EXTREME NEED. Only question is, if I wait until the sales will it still be available?

Not Really Tiger Feet

I have been dying to wear my new loafers, but the rain just won't stop. I don't want to ruin them, so it's leopard print inside the house, boring wellies outside...until, perhaps, next May?

Shirt - Thrift shop in Austin, TX

When I Wear This I Want To Sing Kalinka

This top was another New York thrift store purchase. It's just perfect for Autumn when you need a bit of warmth but don't want to end up carrying a great big coat around with you when the sun comes out. And it makes me feel Russian, which is an added bonus. I love clothes that make you feel like you've been raiding the dressing up box.

Top - Sloan Kettering Thrift Shop
Long Sleeved T-Shirt - American Apparel
Jeans - Topshop
Red Cowboy Boots - Office
Red Hiking Shoes - Red Cross Thrift Shop
Black Fur Booties - Charity Shop
