Colour & Clash

On a grey London day with a bit of a hangover there is nothing better than looking back through the images you've collected over the last few months. At the moment it's print with a bit of playfulness that is appealing to me. I know the weather here is about to drop to 0 degrees by the end of the week, so I'll have to be inventive to remain warm while I work the prints, but I'll be giving it a shot. I might even try and squeeze in a Hammersmith charity shop dash for some great vintage prints.

Vivienne Westwood Squiggle Pirate Boots

I got my first pair of Vivienne Westwood pirate boots some 10 years ago. They were the comfiest, most versatile shoes I have ever owned, that sadly gave up the ghost when I was pounding the pavements in New York - the super soft leather ripped from sheer wear and tear. I literally wore them to death. Something that doesn't happen to many of my shoes. I will try and get them mended, but it's going to be a challenge. The loss (temporary, please!) of my favourite boots has meant my squiggle print pair that I picked up 3 or 4 years ago are now getting many more outings.

Dressing for Disease*

All I want to do is curl up into a ball and sleep. Sadly my diary will prevent me from doing this for quite a while. In the interim all I can do is dress up and fake awake-ness by using tea and chocolate to prop up a sparky demeanour. Are you a smart ill dresser or a sloppy ill dresser? You can always tell when I'm not feeling 100% as it's usually when I make 110% effort with my clothes, if I'm feeling good I can usually wing it.

* nothing serious, just the London tiredness, it's not catching.

Proenza Schouler Mule- my fantasy shoe of the week

Loving these Proenza Schouler shoes. I am a sucker for a big clumpy shoe with a sky scraper heel, but I think they'll remain in fantasy territory for quite a while - here's hoping they end up on The Outnet this time next year...

Silver

Sometimes when you wake up in the morning and have a total wardrobe tantrum it's best to pick one detail and follow it through. For me it was the studs on the shoes, the only item I knew I wanted to wear...I amaze myself that I can have so many clothes and still not find the right outfit if my mojo isn't working.
