Check Topshop Dress

This dress is one of the most comfy items in my wardrobe. It's a bit battered and bobbly these days, but I'm not throwing it out. Everything about is perfect for those 'chuck it on and go' days when you don't want to worry about feeling restricted in your movement or trussed up in your outfit. I can do uncomfortable fashion, but only when it's for a limited time, and certainly not if food is part of the equation. Nothing gets between me and my chow.

Richard Nicoll Print Top

I am dying to wear this Richard Nicoll print top. It's made out of the sheerest fabric, so not really suitable for freezing New York or London. Roll on Spring, please!

Grazia Australia Editorial - Cabin Fever

This is one of my favourite editorials, mostly because it's fun, decadent and I love flying. I also wish this kind of luxe O.T.T. glamour was my life, sadly I'll be economy when I go to New York. Still, a girl can dream from the cheap seats.

Mark Vassallo, the stylist behind these images works with Grazia Australia often and I always seem to love his work - the aesthetic is glossy, commercial, sexy and knowing.

I love receiving copies of Grazia from Oz when my brother sends / brings them over. Grazia in the UK is great for shopping and celebs, but I've only ever rated about 2 editorials in all the years they've been publishing.

ASOS Seamed Biker Leather Skinny Trousers

I have major lust for these leather biker trousers from ASOS. They're not practical and they cost almost £100 so I've decided to wait until after New York to see if they're still in stock. If they are it's fate. That's how I roll.

Red Faced

Reddest face in these pics. Had been on my morning run before rushing off for work. This is so busy right now that I don't really know if I'm coming or going. All I know is that whatever I'm doing there will be early morning runs or runs home from work. Boo to marathons.

Topshop Sweatshirt

This is the perfect sweater - cut to be worn baggy with rough edges that roll and fray. I will be wearing constantly. For work I added some jewellery to stop it looking too casual.

WAH! NAILS and outfit to match

What can I say? I'm still in my Dries Van Noten phase, and this snood is helping me achieve the look, albeit on more of a budget. Thanks ASOS for coming up trumps.

But forget the clothes. These are my WAH! NAILS. I popped into Topshop on the off chance they would have a spare appointment on Saturday and they did. I only had time for an easy design so I went to leopard print to clash with my snood / scarf thing. I am already planning my next visit with pale purple, blue and pink Aztec design in mind.

If you are Dalston or Oxford Circus Topshop way I can't recommend it highly enough. I've never really seen the point in traditional manicure places - I can paint my own nails in one colour well enough. But these designs are something else. Well worth the £24. More complex designs can reach £40, but for a special treat they're perfect.

Plush

The great thing about Uniqlo Heat Tech tops is that they make Spring outfits do-able in the Winter. That, and they don't look like your Grandma's thermal vests.

Print Mixing

I've been clashing patterns this week. I was told at work that I'd gone too far when I tried to add a leopard print scarf to one of these outfits. I can't see the problem with 3 clashing prints myself, but others are slightly more minimalist than me.

Missoni Spring 2011

If you aren't nuts about this video you may be dead.

Raf Simons for Jil Sander - Colour Block Clash Pant Suits

OBSESSION.

Jil Sander's latest collection (S/S 2011) designed by Raf Simons was a favourite if the latest magazine photoshoots are to be believed. So far the skirts seem to be getting the editorial treatment all over the shop, after all, they look great on 6 foot gazelles. But normal women like myself do not need a bubble of fabric around the hips, so those skirts and tee shirt combos are out. The bright pant suits and lean tailoring however are so in. I am dying to wear these colours.

I am salivating at these pictures. I think I need a tailor.

Unhappy Outfits

I'm not mad keen on this outfit or these pictures...but I'm posting them anyway.

I don't think this outfit works, and I didn't feel comfortable in it. For a start, whilst I love this jacket the rounded cut of the shoulders does nothing for me - my Mum often nicks this jacket, I think next time she does I'll let her keep it. I'm also not great with earrings. Studs I can do, hoops like this, not so much. I felt like I wasn't me. If I cut of the metal bit that goes through the ear I'll be left with two claw rings instead (I've tried, they fit well and look great like that), so I think they'll get butchered this weekend.

The only thing I was truly happy with were my nails, but just my left hand (I couldn't get my left hand steady enough to do my right, oh to be ambidextrous).

Celine Envelope Bag

I fell in love with this bag the moment I saw it. The perfect envelope like proportions, the colour, the chain that can be worn long or short. After I bought it I saw a picture by Tommy Ton and suddenly became paralysed with fear...this bag was too chic and I could never pull it off. It has sat unused in my bedroom since early November, but yesterday I decided that enough was enough, I was going to find a way to incorporate into my life. It works. For a start it limits the amount of crap I can carry around with me. I am now restricted to essentials - phone, wallet, book and inhaler. I've never been one for minimalism, so it's quite difficult, but I think it might save me any future back problems.
