Inappropriate bag lust thanks to Giles Deacon

My mother would have a heart attack if I ever bought this bag. "You're too old for novelty fashion" she'd say, or perhaps even worse, "You do know you're in your 30's?"

Well - pah! Look how great the dino bag is! The world is so ageist. First the Natural History Museum does a sleep over for 8 - 12 year olds, I mean, hello, give me a chance first, and now I'm 'too old' for a bag?

So, what do you say? Would you be able to stifle your giggles if you saw me bopping round London with one of these triceratops hold alls?

I'm still in love with those leather trousers - after all these months and years and still haven't seen any available to mortal me. I had to settle for the spider t-shirt and ring instead which I got from TheCorner.com. I was referred by the nice Italian lady in Giles's publicity office I think (you can tell I was desperate. I think I would run after him and beg....maybe.

I know what you mean, invisigle - it's so hard to find Giles anywhere! You get a smattering on farfetch, but it's few and far between.

What ring did you get from TheCorner? My problem is that I can't decide which pieces I want, so I never end up buying...

The trouble is as you say - not enough available when it comes to Giles. It seems you have to be his friend to get any of the runway pieces. I got the red crystal silver spider ring along with the spider t-shirt in the sale last year. I love both these as they are the only Giles pieces I own. What I really want is the blue metallic trousers and also the silver ones from his ss 2009 collection. I've ended up painting my own second-hand leathers which worked fairly well. Not the same though. I am considering getting some motocross pants in the sale which has more or less similar styling, taking out all the padding etc. and do that up in metallic silver. Not sure if it's being creative or just silly and desperate...

I'm all for getting inventive if you can't get hold of stuff. Very brave of you to paint your leather trousers - I'd love to see them!

Sadly my DIY skills do not extend to making a dino or gremlin bag. Although maybe I could take the stuffing out of a toy...? Hmmm.

I think when you see that dino in the toy shop, you'll know! I've found some trousers although not leather ones, with similar styling to the metallic blue ones. So will paint those this coming weekend and let you know the results... I am still looking for a nice but not too expensive pair of leather trousers that might pass for the Giles biker style ones once I turn them to silver (he-he).
